The Daily Mirror tabloid said Briton Raymond Hewlett was living an hour away from Praia da Luz, Portugal, where the girl disappeared two years ago when she was 3 years old. The paper cited Alan and Cindy Thompson, who it said had met Hewlett while he was in Portugal, as the source of its information.  It quoted the Thompsons as saying Hewlett denied having anything to do with Madeleine's disappearance. Britain's Advertising Standards Authority received more than 300 complaints about the ad, a promotion for the Israeli Red Sea resort town of Eilat, according to the agency's spokesman Matt Wilson.
